Winter Golfing Destinations

These tournaments bring in a good crowd and the weather in November is always pleasing with a daily average in the mid 70’s. Florida State Fair – Feb 5 – 16

The 2009 Florida State Fair:
The annual Florida State Fair is a salute to the state’s best in the agriculture and equestrian industry including an abundance of shows, music, rides, food and shopping for 12 consecutive days. Excitement is in the air all over the fairgrounds with plenty of free entertainment included with admission. Make sure to plan your day in advance to enjoy all the sights, sounds, and tastes the state fair has to offer. Parking is free during the Fair. Gates open daily at 9 a.m. and closing time varies by the day of the week and influencing weather conditions.

Gasparilla Pirate Invasion Saturday the 7th of February

Gasparilla Pirate Invasion is one of Tampa’s oldest traditions for the young and old. Saturday, February 7, at 11:30 a.m., the Jose Gasparilla, will set voyage from the south end of Hillsborough Bay and make its way down the bay toward downtown Tampa. Followed by hundreds of water craft and parade goers. The Gasparilla Parade is one of the finest around, if you like the Mardi Gras party style then this is the parade for you.Beads and beads and more beads.. thousands of people follow the floats and line the isles of Bay shore Boulevard and await to catch beads from the parade floats. Apartments vs. Hotels

As someone who has worked in the hotel industry for about 20 years, I have found that the double-double (1 room with 2 doulbe beds) is not all its cracked up to be.  There is 1 bathroom, 2 beds and a tv and with a family of 5 this doesn’t really work.  We have found that staying with a furnished housing provider provides more space and certainly 2 bedrooms with a full kitchen.  Not only, do we save money on food by having a stove, microwave and a refrigerator but also, we have more space and less fights.  Leading Apartments has great facilities whether in Chicagao at MDA City Apartments or in Minneapolis at the Eitel Building.  Its a great experience.

Detroit Red Wings — The Definition of Sweep

The Detroit Red Wings are the only ones bringing much needed GREAT news to Detroit. As the automotive market is crumbling, the suppliers are barely staying alive–it is the HOCKEY in Detroit that is shining some light on a very depressed city. What is the definition of SWEEP? 1. To clean or clear, as of dirt, with or as if with a broom or brush: sweep a chimney. 2. To clear away with or as if with a broom or brush: swept snow from the steps. 3. To win all the stages of (a game or contest): swept the World Series. 4. To win overwhelmingly in: The opposition party swept the election.
